After many years of working to establish family literacy centers in the West Bank refugee camps, the Organization to Promote Adult Literacy (OPAL) had donated all funds to the Gaza Mental Health Foundation. The best way to "cure" adult illiteracy is to eliminate the cause and keep children in school.
Many of the children in Gaza have been so traumatized that they need interventions before they can turn their minds and efforts to school. The Board of Directors of OPAL agreed unanimously that the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme would be the best choice to use the money wisely.
You, too, can help. Donate today.
